Update: Health Center Funding Cliff
On Monday, January 22, Congress passed a short-term spending package to end the government shutdown, keep the government running through February 8th, and provide a six year extension of the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). Unfortunately, this agreement did not include any funding for community health centers, the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) or the Teaching Health Centers Graduate Medical Education (THCGME) program.  With just three short weeks before this latest short-term government funding extension expires, we are redoubling our efforts to make sure that resolving the health center funding cliff remains at the top of Congress’s list of policy priorities. To learn more about next steps, stay tuned to HCAdvocacy.com  Take action by weighing in with your Member of Congress about the health center funding cliff.

First Choice Health Centers will lost $2.1 million dollars and approximately 3,000 of our patients will lose access to health care if Congress does not act to continue funding to Federally Qualified Health Centers.  Please contact your members of congress today!
