Licensed Practical Nurse – Pediatrics and Family Medicine

Provide skilled nursing care to patients in the clinical setting at the Center under the direction of the Registered Nurse, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Physician Assistant, or Physician in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, Federal and Connecticut State guidelines. Collaborates with the patient care team to provide holistic patient centered care in accordance with the Center’s mission, standards of care, and best practices.

Qualifications

Abilities:

  • Ability to follow protocols and procedures
  • Ability to identify and research relevant clinical and federal guidelines
  • Ability to work flexible hours including rotating Saturdays and early morning /evening hours
  • Knowledge and understanding of diverse populations with ability to work in non-judgmental manner, treating all patients with equality regardless of race, gender, religion or sexual orientation

Experience:

  • Minimum one year clinical experience preferred
  • Medication administration experience
  • Prior experience in Pediatrics/Vaccine administration
  • Experience in maintaining a medication room
  • Experience working in a Joint Commission-accredited facility preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of general nursing theory and practices

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program
  • Maintain current unencumbered, unrestricted LPN license with CT State Licensing Board
  • Current Basic Life Support/CPR certification
